I’ve been interested in Guild Wars 2, the brand new and very entertaining game by ArenaNet and NCsoft for quite some time now. I’ve played during the last few beta weekends and pre-ordered the game months ago, and I can’t wait for the official release next week. It’s been really fun playing the game so far, but I still remember my first few days of playing and how confused and lost I was.

I’m sure your goal is to have the strongest possible character regardless of your role: healing, tanking, doing damage, crowd control, or even PvE raiding or PvP. There’s many possible ways how your class can excel from others and it’s important to have all the details given to you prior to choosing the profession, since you are unable to change it later on. It’s best to get this information from trusted sources, such as players who have been with GW2 since the very start of the beta.
There’s also many more aspects of Guild Wars 2 that you need to know about. Some of them include dungeons and raiding, player versus player combat, crafting disciplines, gold making, class attributes, equipment choices and more. Most of this information depends on which class you play and how you like playing it, so again having the right information will ensure you enjoy playing it.
There are a few ways you could go about to learn all this information: official website and wiki, GW2 forums or various fan-sites with beginner guides and information. All of those are useful to a degree, but they don’t come close to what you can find in professionally written Guild Wars 2 strategy guides. These guides are written by some of the most experienced gamers with years of experience in dominating various MMORPGs: breaking leveling records, unlocking most achievements, clearing dungeons and raids, powerleveling crafting professions, min-maxing skills and gear to get the most out of their characters.
