Heated electric socks have significantly grown in popularity over the past few years. What started as a niche product has now developed into a highly sought item popular among senior citizens, outdoor workers, bikers, sportsmen and even military personnel. Even people who suffer from chronically cold feet or poor circulation can finally be at rest and keep their feet warm at all times.
These socks have a ton of different manufacturers and are readily available in stores such as Walmart, Target or Amazon if you want to shop online. It’d be pretty futile to recommend a specific manufacturer. We’re also not exactly talking about high-end technology here so whatever model you decide to purchase will probably be a matter of personal preference or convenience.
As mentioned electric heated socks are the best way to keep your feet warm no matter what activities we’re talking about. Even hikers and policemen are using them every day and it’s a very affordable way to make your life easier every day. The cost of cheapest electronic heated socks is usually $20-$30 so literally anyone can afford them.
They are powered by batteries which are usually rechargeable and replaceable meaning you can even carry a spare pack with you in case the juice runs out. On cheaper models the battery lasts for about 3 hours, with better (and usually more expensive) models the battery can last even up to 12 hours, which should be more than enough for any kind of activity throughout the day. On certain models you can also regulate heating, so on a lower setting you’ll be able to prolong the battery even further.
Another important thing to know is that these socks need to be hand washed. Under no circumstances should you wash it in the washing machine as it may completely ruin them. Heated socks must always be hand-washed in warm water, and be sure to use a gentle squeezing action to wash and rinse. Also don’t wring the socks as it may damage the wiring in them. When drying simply hang them or lay them flat if possible, as machine drying can also have negative consequences. When washing, you can use a mild detergent and warm water.
Heated socks are really great for hobbies and outdoor activities, but can also be used inside. If you want your feet to finally be constantly warm through the winter you can purchase quality electric heated socks for less than $50 which is in anyone’s price range.
Best electric socks for 2018 / 2019 season
Electric socks have many manufacturers and suppliers. Many people are wondering how to find good electric socks which are reliable and durable.
We did our own research and found the following products which seem to fit all the criteria for top electric socks.
1. Global Vasion Battery Heated Socks
Global Vasion is the most recognizable brand of electric socks. Their socks can be found almost anywhere including physical stores like Walmart and online shops like Amazon.
Global Vasion heated socks are absorbent, breathable and soft. They’re elastic and will fit well on most feet, and quick drying material will ensure your feet stay toasty warm but dry.
These electric socks have extra padding on heel and toes for more comfort, making them especially useful for outdoor activities such as hunting, hiking or sports. Heated area is on front instep, which provides constant heat to where it’s needed most.
Socks are powered by two rechargeable li-ion batteries, with an AC charger included. They come in gray and black models. Materials are cotton and spandex.
Main features:
- Rechargeable batteries
- Three heating settings (low, medium and high)
- Materials: cotton and spandex
- Best price on: $42.99 on Amazon
2. Mobile Warming Electric Heated Socks
Mobile Warming has a wide range of electric heated apparel. Their electric socks are a bit more expensive than many others on the market, but there are reasons for the premium price.
Socks are made from moisture wicking materials. They’re warm and very comfortable even while not in operation, and they will fit well and snug on your feet.
Two rechargeable lithium ion batteries are included with these electric socks, and will provide up to 11 hours of continuous heating.
Mobile Warming electric socks have a wireless Bluetooth remove control. You can use this remote to turn the socks on or off as you please, and regulate how much heat you want.
The remote control is a fantastic feature enabling you to change temperature as needed, making them very convenient for outdoor activities where pulling your pants down isn’t appropriate.

3. Turtle Fur Lectra Sox Electric Socks
Turtle Fur has been in the outdoor apparel and accessories since the 80s. They’re based on Vermont, and have recently expanded to electric heated products as well.
Their Lectra Sox product is a decent entry into heated electric socks. These socks are made from a wool blend, with padded reinforced heel and toe areas.
Product comes in black, gray and maroon colors. Accessible battery pouch is attached on top. Heating area on these socks is on toes.
Main downside to Lectra Soc is that they’re powered by D-cell batteries. These are disposable batteries and you will have to either keep buying new ones or purchase rechargeable ones. Batteries are sold separately and don’t come included with this product.
Despite the battery downside, these electric socks will provide 6-8 hours of heating which should be enough for most activities. On the upside, you can purchase a replacement battery pack almost anywhere and carry as many sets of batteries with you as needed.
Main features:
- Wool blend makes these socks warm even while not heating

- “D” cell batteries (not included)

Top electric socks – which ones to buy?
Global Vasion, Mobile Warming and Lectra Sox are the three electric heated socks which are used and purchased by most consumers.
Lectra Sox is fairly inexpensive and a good entry point to the market, but if you suffer from chronically cold feet a better product with rechargeable batteries and adjustable heat levels is recommended.
Mobile Warming is my personal favorite. They look fantastic and once I got used to having a remote control it’s hard to consider going back. They are somewhat expensive, but they are durable and will last multiple seasons.
For people just starting to consider electric socks Global Vasion is no doubt the best choice. They offer excellent quality, adjustable heat settings, rechargeable batteries, and are generally affordable for most people.
$43 often isn’t too much to spend for a great gift for a friend or loved one either, and toasty warm feet can be worth every penny.
I would like to buy these electric socks, where are they?
Thanks for your helpful post.
Please consider more people when generalizing to “anyone” and talking about price. $20-30 for a pair of socks is extremely unaffordable for a huge number of people in this country and certainly elsewhere.
If 20-30 dollars is enough to break the bank perhaps you should have made better life decisions.
Hi there wondering I work in a freezer -28 and my feet always get cold! Even with 4 socks (includes 2 thermal socks 1 Nike dri fit and 1 Calvin Klein ankle socks) and my feet still get cold! Do you think having the electric socks will keep my feet warm at all times? And being in a freezer would there be any hazards?(my legs and feet are completely covered)
Hope to hear from you!
Warm regards,
Stace
It would depend on the manufacturer and model, but higher quality electric socks are designed to work in harsh temperature, and as long as the battery is not directly exposed to such low temperature it should work fine.
I would recommend looking into each model in more detail to see if the socks can withstand -28 for extended periods of time.
